Surface Supplied Commercial Diving
Surface supplied diving down to commercial operational depths with umbilicals, Kirby Morgan helmet and communications equipment.
Certified industrial diving for offshore platforms, subsea pipelines, wharves and marine structures. Our own hyperbaric chamber, Class A HSE personnel, and technical heritage from the pioneer of professional diving in Mexico.
At Corporativo Costa Afuera (COCOA) we deliver comprehensive commercial and professional underwater diving services for the oil, port and marine infrastructure industries. Our divers operate with Kirby Morgan Superlite equipment, umbilical surface systems and our own hyperbaric chamber.
COCOA’s technical roots come straight from the school itself: our founder, Eng. Ricardo Vazquez Adame, founded the Mexican Institute of Commercial Diving in the 1970s, the country’s first industrial diving school, and co-founded DIAVAZ in 1973. That technical lineage is what we apply on every dive today.
We cover the full spectrum of professional underwater work: inspection, maintenance, repair, welding, cutting, cleaning and installation support on platforms, pipelines, wharves and marine structures.

Welding of piping, jackets and underwater structure under hyperbaric procedures with divers qualified in structural welding.
Close visual inspection, ultrasonic thickness measurement, crack detection and underwater structural integrity assessment.
Inspection, cleaning, repair and coordination with cathodic protection on subsea pipelines and piping for the oil industry.
Underwater sandblasting, marine growth and encrustation removal, structural cleaning prior to inspection or coating.
Underwater cutting with oxy-arc, object salvage and controlled dismantling under water.
Every diving job follows the same technical and safety protocol, with documented control points and client acceptance sign-off at each stage.

COCOA’s advantage is that critical diving equipment is in-house and operated by personnel certified under the founder’s technical school. A single accountable contractor, with no opaque subcontracting chain.
Our own professional diving crew with a track record in offshore and port industrial diving.
Our own hyperbaric chamber for decompression and post-dive treatment at the Tuxpan base.
Surface systems with Kirby Morgan helmets, umbilicals, control panel and full duplex communications.
HSE compliance for the offshore oil industry. Dive plan, zero incident tolerance.
We work under an integrated contract. The list is what is delivered as documentation at operation closeout.

COCOA was founded by Eng. Ricardo Lorenzo Vazquez Adame, born on September 28, 1946, and recognized as one of the pioneers of industrial diving in Mexico. In the 1970s he founded the Mexican Institute of Commercial Diving, the country’s first industrial diving school, and in 1973 he co-founded DIAVAZ, the company that 6 years later would train the first 15 professional commercial divers in all of Mexico.
That technical lineage is why every COCOA dive today is executed with the same rigor that characterized our founder from the start. Read the full tribute to the pioneer of industrial diving in Mexico.
